Three years ago, the trigger ban changed idaho for the worse.

For nearly 50 years, Idahoans had the personal liberty to make private medical decisions—including regulated access to abortion—with their doctors, not politicians. But Idaho’s trigger abortion ban ended all that.

Since the ban, doctors are leaving, delivery rooms are closing, and everyone is finding it harder to access basic medical care. Worst of all, women are forced to get sicker, suffer, and risk their lives while they wait for life-saving care.

And even though they know this ban is breaking us, our legislature won’t act to fix what they’ve broken.

No one is coming to save us.

but here in Idaho, we have the power
to save ourselves WITH THE

the reproductive freedom & Privacy act.

What it is

The Reproductive Freedom & Privacy Act is a citizen-led ballot initiative. That means it’s a law, written by citizens, who are acting when their legislature fails to fix a problem. Idahoans United for Women & Families is powering this initiative with grassroots volunteers and donors.

Our polling indicates that majorities of Idahoans agree: government should stay out of private medical decisions.

what it does

This initiative would restore the personal liberty to make one’s own reproductive healthcare decisions—including birth control, IVF, regulated abortion access, and more—with their doctor WITHOUT undue government overreach.

It’s the standard we had in Idaho for nearly 50 years (also known as the “Roe Standard”) and means decriminalized abortion up to fetal viability and past that in cases of medical emergency or fatal fetal diagnosis.

How we QUALIFY

In order to qualify for the ballot, Idahoans United’s volunteers must gather 70,700 voter signatures in every corner of the state (and in 18 of Idaho’s 35 legislative districts) by April 30, 2026.

If passed on the ballot in November 2026 by a simple majority of Idaho voters, this initiative will become law, effectively ending Idaho’s trigger ban.

We Need You.

Join the nearly 1,000 Idahoans across the state who have stepped up to gather signatures for the Reproductive Freedom and Privacy Act. This campaign is by Idahoans, for Idahoans, and we can’t do this without the power of volunteers.

Step 1

Sign up to join our volunteer team in any corner of the state of Idaho. You donate as much or as little of your time: every signature moves us closer to our goal.

Step 2

Come to a one-hour training (in person or on Zoom: we have them weekly!) to empower you with everything you need to know, including petition basics, messaging, and more.

Step 3

Get your petitions notarized and turned in to your local team leader. We’ve got notaries across the state who can help you get your petitions ready for submission.
